Bojana Simovic, NKC manager, emphasized that with many projects NKC will be included in the official celebration of 2013 - the anniversary year of Milan Edict. The Mayor of Nis Zoran Perisic and Boban Dzunic with associates were present during the ceremony of Saint Day cake traditional cutting. They pointed at the permanent values that are the spirit of Saint Sava aims and that were left for our future. The celebration day of Saint Sava has been celebrated as Schools Saint Day since 1840, after the proposal of Atanasije Nikolic, rector from Kragujevac. In the decision of the educational institution of the time, the representatives of the state and church authorities proclaimed that Saint Sava will be the patron of all our schools and since that moment it had been generally celebrated until 1945, when it was repealed by the Government. After half of century of interdiction by the communist regime, during the 90s of the last century, it returns into the lives of pupils and students as their celebration day. |
